Stanley Sweetheart #4 bench plane

It’s not a Lie-Nielsen or a Veritas, but I’ve found mine to be a very good plane for the money.

I like the mouth adjustment and the Norris style blade adjustment. I found the sole to be flat and well cast, and find the plane comfortable to use.

However, as with all bench planes, you should try a few and see which one you feel most comfortable with. I should also say that this is one tool you will use a lot, so make sure the one you get is good and is going to last you.
